LAHEY, Alfred Morris – of Bell Island, Newfoundland, born April 22, 1941, died on September 23, 2009 at 11:45 PST after a short fight with cancer. Alfred, or “Big Al”, wants to be remembered as a “happy go lucky” guy who enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be missed by his family and friends. Surviving family members include his brothers: (Maurice, Bob, Vince, and Paul); his sisters: (Rita, Frances and Carmel); his children and spouses: (Glen and Cathy, Darrell and Kefi, and Jennifer and Will), and his grandchildren (Danielle, Luke, Caleb, Abigail, Lily, Darius, and Sebastian). The day of Alfred’s passing was also the birthday of his brother, Tom, who died earlier in 2009. Alfred will celebrate Tom’s birthday in heaven with Tom and their parents, Thomas and Maureen. At the time of his death, Alfred lived in Maple Ridge, B.C., with his daughter and family. A life celebration will be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland at 4 p.m., November 5th, 2009 at Mary Queen of the World Church.
