MISCELLANEOUS: A recent request from an author - T. Robert Fowler has come to fruition. This book discusses the meaning of courage under fire and analyzes the gallantry decorations awarded to Canadian soldiers from the South African War to Afghanistan. In this context, the book presents the advance of the Black Watch on Verrieres Ridge on July 25, 1944 as one of its examples. The book is now published. It is called "Courage Rewarded: The Valour of Canadian Soldiers Under Fire 1900-2007."
