Regret to report the death of Doug Rogers last week in Oromocto.
Doug served with Second Battalion RHC/’D’ Company in the early ‘60s before he remustered to RCEME.

It is with sadness that the family of Doug Rogers announces his death at Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the age of 79. Born in Waterville, NS, on September 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Lindsey and Viola (Taylor) Rogers.
Doug leaves behind his son, Kyle Rogers (Carolyn); daughters, Laurie Rogers and Michele Stephenson (Darren Fry); grandchildren, Brian and Greg Thomas, Emily Burtt, Tanner Fry, Mitchell and Alana Shaw; half brothers, Howard and Russell Rogers; sisters, Doreen Loughlean (Gerry) and Mary Deadder (Floyd); and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, Lindsey and Viola, Doug was predeceased by his son, David Rogers; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Leon Barkhouse.
Doug was a proud veteran who served his country for 22 years as a welder in the Canadian Armed Forces.
There will be no funeral service at Doug's request. A memorial gathering will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 in Oromocto on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. A tribute service at the legion will begin 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Nova Scotia. For those who wish, donations in Doug's memory can be made to Hospice Fredericton.
