BECOME A MEMBER OF CANADA'S SENIOR
HIGHLAND REGIMENT
The
Regiment is currently recruiting for new members. It is
by far a part-time job with a difference. Having served
its country for over 135 years, we continue to seek dedicated
young men and women to fill part-time positions.
The Black Watch and the Reserves offer employment with
a flair. Adventure, outdoor living, discipline, survival
training, physical conditioning, and tradition are just
a few choice words that sum up the Black Watch experience.
As trained infantry soldiers, many members of the Black
Watch have served voluntarily alongside the Regular Forces
of the world at foreign postings such as Cyprus, the Middle
East, Germany, and the former Yugoslavia.
Our commitment to you
- Part-time employment during the school year
- Full-time summer employment
- Courses and training to assist career advancement
- Uniforms, equipment, accommodation and meals provided
during training. New challenges in a group environment.
Your commitment to us
- Be available on Tuesday nights and at least one weekend
per month during school year
- Be physically fit and a team player
- Be willing to wear a kilt one day and combat gear
the next
- Be prepared to work under stress
Requirements
- a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant (conditions
apply)
- at least 16 years old as of July 1 and must have parental
permission if a minor
- have completed Grade 9 (Secondary III - Math, English,
French) with 24 credits, or Canadian Provincial Government
equivalency.
- in good physical health
- be of good character
