WALKER, GEORGE ALEXANDER 'DODIE' 13 Years, 8 Months ago
Peacefully at Lakeview Manor, with the twins by his side on July 27, 2010 in his 80th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Janet. Loving father to Gwen, Alison (Paul) and the late Douglas. Papa to Kylie, Jenna, Rachel and Kelly. Sadly missed by his sister Annie and brother-in-law to Billy Dooley. Lovingly remembered by family in Greenock and Aberdeen, Scotland. Cherished friend to Margaret Anderson, Vic Burnett and their families, also the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Retired employee of Toronto Hydro and proud member of the 48th Highlanders P&D since 1954. Well known to many as he addressed the haggis at many yearly Robbie Burns celebrations. His love of music and electronics was greatly admired! Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (N. of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Central United Church (next to Ward's) on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Sincere thanks to Dr. McCordick and all staff at 'The Harbour'. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Aphasia Institute and the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. A Book of Memories may be signed at www.wardfuneralhome.com
