Regret to forward the obit below which appears in Halifax Chronicle Herald.

Sandy Archie was a long time member of 2nd Battalion.

MacDONALD, Sandy Archie

77, Glace Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Alex and Leta (McAulay) Farquhar. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and companion of many years, Isabell MacLean; very good friends, Joe (Theresa) Wilson, Glace Bay; and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Edward. Visitation will be held Sunday 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Anne's Church. Interment will be at a later date. www.vjmcgillivray.ca

Sandy Archie one of the "good old Lads". I met Sandy one day at the malls in Sydney and now regret I did not spend a few more minutes with him, he had a great sense of humour as a younger soldier though I never really knew him as being young. He was an old soldier to me in those days. Let us not forget!

I agree Sanduy Archie was one of the good ole boys I met him in 1964 when i transferred to 2RHC in Germay 'I remember when he got his mustang fastback'He was a great blackwather and he will be missed
