Regret to report the passing of Phil Currie yesterday in New Brunswick.
Phil served with 2nd Battalion in Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus.

Phillip Oliver Currie 1931-2016

With heavy hearts, the family of Phillip O. Currie of Fredericton, age 84 announce his passing at the York Care Center on January 20, 2016. Born in Fredericton, NB, a son of the late Oliver and Edith (Williams) Currie.

He is survived by his children Dale Currie (Linda), Betty Logue (Brian), Patricia Currie (Tony), Terry Currie (Mary Lou), Jim Brewster (Rose); as well as Darlene Turnbull and Elizabeth Soos (Robert); sisters Clair Lyons (Gary), Beatrice Crea (Giovanni); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Joan Currie. Predeceased by a brother Keith and 3 sisters Elenora DeWolfe (Barker), Kay Frawley (Johnny) and Marlene Parent.

Phillip was a Heavy Equipment Operator, former member of the Black Watch as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #93 Oromocto.

Following cremation, and honoring Phillip’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. We wish to acknowledge the support and care our father received from the staff of York Care Center, with special recognition to 3rd floor while he was a resident there.

Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road have been entrusted with arrangements. (458-1885)
