Tud Kaulbach Photos - 1970 10 Years, 2 Months ago
These photographs show then Major Tud Kaulbach while he was the officer commanding C Company, 2RCR, at Fort York in Soest, Germany. The first is of Major Kaulbach during the lunch break of a TEWT involving the battalion's officers.

The second photograph is from the Freedom of the City of Soest parade held during the Farewell to Soest celebrations in June, 1970. Major Kaulbach is leading his company. Beside him is the Company 2IC Captain Al Ditter, Canadian Guards.

Both of the photographs are from the collection of Major Al Ditter (ret'd).

Cheers,
Dan.

My friend, Major Al Ditter (ret'd), has sent me a copy of a poster showing all of the officers serving with 2RCR in Germany during 1970. I cut the photo of Tud Kaulbach down to size and am posting it here for those who knew him.

Al, has always written Tud's last name with an 'H' as in Kaulbach. Here on the poster, it's written with a 'K' as in Kaulback. Can anyone provide the correct spelling?

Cheers,
Dan.

Well, it's definitely spelled Kaulbach, with an 'H.' This was confirmed by noting how it's spelled in 'Canada's Black Watch 1951-1970' and in my copy of the 'The Canadian Army (Regular) List' for 1966. I guess whoever put the 2RCR Officers' poster together got it wrong.

Cheers,
Dan.
