FOR KING AND EMPIRE This site is part of a Canadian project based on war historian Norm Christie's books of the same name. Also included in the project is a six-part documentary series that aired on History Television in January, 2001. The web site looks at the Canadian soldier's experiences in WWI and recreates a day-by-day account of their involvement in the battles at Passchendaele and Vimy Ridge. The site also features a Collectors' Forum, where militaria collectors can discuss their collections and post items for sale, a section where the visitor can send postcards of War Art or download a WWI song, and a Resource Centre where many books and web links dedicated to WWI are listed. There is also an area where the public is encouraged to send in memorabilia and reminiscences of ancestors that fought in WWI. An excellent site.
