Canada's Red Hackle magazine
Our
new magazine, aptly named Canada's Red Hackle, is
intended to periodically chronicle the widespread happenings
of the extended Black Watch family and its affiliations
from all parts of Canada and around the world. Many years
of discussion about the production of our own "Red
Hackle" have led to what will be the beginning of
something that will be of interest to all those associated
with our great Regiment. It is not intended, however,
to replace existing endeavours such as the Association
newsletters, but better provide a means to convey their
efforts farther. This initiative of the Black
Watch Foundation can ultimately only be successful
with timely and informative input from all. It should
be noted that no information is necessarily too small
or insignificant for our magazine. What may not seem interesting
to one may be to someone else. One idea we are considering
for future issues is a "Roll Call" section where
one can inform on their current status or inquire about
someone's whereabouts. With enough input this would be
a definite reality.
Information
may be received by regular mail at the Armoury (2067 Bleury
Street, Montreal, Quebec H3A 2K2) to the attention of
Regimental Headquarters or by e-mail to editor@blackwatchcanada.com
. Text attachments should come in WORD document format
and scanned pictures should be of a decent resolution
and in TIFF or EPS format.
The magazine is currently mailed to all active members
of the Regiment and affiliated cadet corps, and members
of the various Black Watch Associations and messes. Former
members are encouraged to join your local Association
branch (links above). Discussions about offering paid
subscriptions are underway.
